Platform and Values
Sustainability and Strategic Growth
Growth is exciting but it can come with negative externalities. We must design and build with a forward-thinking mindset considering alternative renewable sources of energy and we must be sure to maintain and improve our public services, such as the public library and parks. I will keep the needs of our amazing long term residents that make the city so special at the forefront of the discussion.
Mobility and Accessibility
I will work to improve accessibility across the city. As we grow we have a unique opportunity to move away from the car-centric city design that has plagued cities for decades. We have to be sure that city services and public spaces are pedestrian focused and can be accessed by all, not just those who can afford automobiles. Adding sidewalks, ADA compliant functionalities, and bike lanes will not only open up transportation options, it will improve the health and environment of Doraville.
Maintaining Diversity
Doraville has a bevy of cultural backgrounds as well as a wonderful senior community. I will ensure that everyone’s voice and perspective is considered as the city makes these critical and exciting decisions. We have to be sure we don’t lose sight of what makes our community incredible.
Animal Rescue
Both of mine and my wife’s dogs are rescues and have immeasurably improved our lives. Doraville has worked to improve the stray situation but there are still too many loose animals running around our neighborhoods. This is unfair to the animals, unfair to owners who may have lost their pets, and unfair to residents who feel unsafe to walk in their own neighborhood. I will work with existing programs to help improve this situation and save these amazing animals’ lives and find them great homes with families who will benefit the same way I have from opening up my home to them.
