Get to Know Taylor

About Me

Thank you for taking the time to visit my campaign website! I’m Taylor and I’m excited to get to share a little about myself. I am a husband, dog dad to two amazing rescues, senior engineer in the solar industry, and a pursuer of many hobbies; including cooking, rock climbing, chess, fostering dogs, and backpacking.

I am extremely fortunate to be married to my incredible and beautiful wife Andi. Together we have built a wonderful life in Doraville with our two dogs Piper and Lola. Having been a homeowner in Doraville for 4 years I am passionate about what makes this city so incredible. As we undergo the downtown redevelopment and accelerated growth that comes with our city’s advantageous location we must be careful not to forget what makes this place so special; our unparalleled diversity and incredible long term residents. I am determined to make sure the downtown redevelopment is focused on providing a space for all to enjoy. Doraville must continue to be accessible, with a renewed focus on mobility and strategic growth that keeps our amazing residents at the forefront of our plans.

As a senior project engineer I have overseen new products from the conceptual phase all the way to the product’s end of life. The experience of balancing timelines, various departments, tight schedules, and overcoming obstacles makes me uniquely suited for the role of City Councilman. Working in the solar industry has taught me that no one person ever knows everything and the key to a successful project is teamwork and the willingness to listen, learn, and collaborate. While I am looking forward to bringing my experience to the table I’m even more excited to learn from and work with the great council members and city staff we already have serving our city.

Civic Engagement

Planning Commission

While on the planning commission I have voted on nearly 100 proposals to be put before our City Council. My time on the commission has taught me a great deal about the city’s process. That experience will facilitate a smooth transition to a new role as city council member.

Animal Rescue

Over the years I have fostered many dogs to help save them from kill shelters working with great organizations such as the Atlanta Humane Society, Southern Cross Shepherd Rescue, and Pawprint Pack.

Volunteer Work

I have always enjoyed volunteering and looking for various ways to help my community. I’m proud to say I was chosen as an ambassador for my company’s charity organization as we work with Solar Energy International to help provide training and jobs for veterans to join the solar industry. From volunteering at various charities, serving as Vice President on my HOA board at my last home, and working to help grow the Physics Club at university as the club president; I have always relished the opportunity to work with others as we all focus on a common goal to leave the world a better place than we found it.
